Japan/Europe: Peugeot Citroen in strategic tie-up talks with Mitsubishi

Reports from Tokyo said the French are looking a 30% to 50% stake in Mitsubishi but talks could see that increased to a controlling interest.

The deal is centred on Mitsubishi’s leading technology for producing electric cars and other environmentally sound vehicles.

Peugeot Citroen said it has already worked with Mitsubishi on projects including 4X4 vehicles, clean technologies for electric cars and a joint venture in Russia.
