GS Yuasa plans battery plant for elec cars, partner with Mitsubitshi

TOKYO, Aug 6 (Reuters) – A joint venture led by car battery maker GS Yuasa Corp (6674.T: Quote, Profile, Research) will start production of lithium-ion batteries with output five times bigger than originally planned to stay ahead of rivals as a key supplier for electric vehicles, the Nikkei business daily reported on Wednesday.
